First you need to login to the site with your personal Jiwok user name and password. Once your user name and password is accepted, you will have access to the site. • Am I able to use my own music?

Yes! We have developed music software to install on your computer (compatible with Mac, XP, Vista, Windows 7), that will analyze your music and generate exercise sessions according to your goals. You can then swim with the voice of the coach alongside your music.
The music formats supported are mp3 and AAC (iTunes format). At the moment, wma protected files are not supported by our tool.

  • And if I have no music? Or I want to run without my music?

No problem! You can build your personal profile from our own musical selections in "My Tools". The artists of these chosen songs allow the free distribution of them. Jiwok offers a service that lets you build your own personal training program with these songs, tailored to your musical tastes and your goals. Therefore Jiwok not only helps you get fit, but also discover new talents!

  • What music formats are supported by the Jiwok software?

For now, our software works with all your files in mp3 and AAC (iTunes format), but we are unable to use your music files with digital protection because of current laws.

  • How long will it take for the software to generate an mp3 session with my own music?

It depends on your computer and the length of the session. On average, it can take between 5 and 15 minutes.
Alternatively, if you use the music proposed by Jiwok on the website, it will take less than a minute.
If you cannot generate your session, please install the Firefox web browser: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/

  • How long does it take for Jiwok software to detect my music?

It depends on the number of songs you have on your computer. It could take between 1 minute and 1 hour to detect and merge the music with the training program.

  • Why can't I download all the workouts to my training program?

Your subscription lasts for one month. At the end of each month, there is an option to renew for the next month. You can download your training sessions for the current month as many times as you wish, but not the sessions for the following months.
(One month subscription means from date to date: for example, if you subscribe on March 5, the next month will begin April 5).

  • Am I able to un-subscribe whenever I want?

Yes of course. Your subscription is monthly and is automatically renewable at the end of each month. If you would like to un-subscribe, it is only 2 mouse clicks away (under 'My Account' and then 'My Profile').

  • Why does the message to 'uninstall iTunes' appear in some cases when launching Jiwok?

With some PC configurations, your system may ask you to re-install iTunes when launching Jiwok. In this case, close iTunes, as well as the Jiwok software. Then try re-opening the Jiwok software and everything should work.

  • How come in certain sessions, my music is not played all the time?

Our software analyzes the genre, tempo, duration, and many other criteria of your music library. For some exercise intensities, it is possible that you did not have music appropriate to this exercise, which is why our software selects other songs.

  • I don't have a Heart Rate Monitor. How do I calculate my Heart Rate percentage?

Each workout indicates one or more paces to follow during your session. They are shown as % MHR (as a percentage of your Maximum Heart Rate).
Heart Rate (HR) is the number of heart beats per minute.

To work most effectively, it is important to reach your maximum heart rate (MHR).
As you can see from the various sessions of Jiwok training, your progress and movement are guided by this measure, so it is good to know!

To do this simply, evaluate your form during a run of 20 minutes at an endurance pace (where you can talk without being breathless) and finish the effort by accelerating quickly for at least 1 minute going as fast as you can for the last 20 seconds.
This is probably the simplest and least restrictive method, but not the most accurate or recommended over the age of 40 without notice from your doctor.

The latest idea is to estimate the 220-age method for men and 226 for-age women. This calculation, however, is also less precise.

    A basic guideline is this:

Running from 65-75% MHR: You must be able to run without being out of breath when speaking, if you are breathless, you must slow down.

Running from 76% to 85% MHR: You must be able to run fast and if you try to talk you are out of breath.

Running from 86-95% MHR: You are exercising full out with maximum effort, almost at the limit of your capabilities.
